Who are these guys?

Over the last twenty-plus years, Flora & Company has grown to be the world’s largest producer of professional development materials for performers for two main reasons.

First, our materials are designed with the working performer in mind. We perform for a living, and we publish only the kinds of materials we have found helpful in our own performing careers.

Second, our authors are willing to publish the kind of real world information needed by professionals. We do not publish fluff or pie-in-the-sky. Our books, tapes, and DVD’s are packed full of practical, workable techniques for all kinds of performers.

That’s why we get letters like this one, from a now full-time professional performer on the West Coast:

"Dear Brian & Jan:

"I know that you have heard this before, but I wanted to share this with you, as I am so grateful.

"I have been a magician almost all my life. I have been a businessman all of my adult life. I never knew how to mix the two.

"I got your first tape by accident. A woman I had helped said, ’I have something that I bought that you can use.’ It was Marketing for Mentalists. She gave it to me, and I got excited. Here was the way to make money as an entertainer. I couldn’t believe it. All I had to do was put the ideas to work and I made money.

"The reason I am so grateful is that I was recently pushed out of a multi-million dollar business, and I believed I could make it on my own. I was wrong. I went broke. Creditors were calling, credit cards canceled, checks bounced, not enough money for the rent, no new clothes for the kids, etc. Thanks to my wife’s job we managed to eat.

"This month we are current on bills, have new clothes, had a great Christmas, and are as happy as we were before the hell we went through. The list of positive changes goes on and on. Why? Because of the money we made doing magic shows. You folks supplied the missing ingredients. Without your tips and techniques we couldn’t have done it.

"I have heard that you are considered controversial among the magic fraternity. They must have their priorities wrong. Finger flinging is not the most important thing. Even being entertaining isn’t. Being able to provide for my family is the most important thing I can do. Having self respect. Being happy. These are the keys.

"So, keep it up. You have touched people’s lives and made them more whole."

That’s who we are and what we do. If you want to learn how to be an effective performer and make a great living, you’ve come to the right site!
